Baby Girl Sets
Some baby girl sets I've completed recently.
I loved doing a baby set for another little Tatum! It was just yesterday that my Tatum was using burp cloths and wearing baby gowns.
Don't mind the floor peeking out behind the backdrop here.
Applique Baby Gown
I tried my first applique name baby gown. Let me just say, I feel like I should have had Tye take my picture with the finished product and hung it up over the mantel after I labored and toiled over it. I had to rehoop it twice, taking great care to keep it perfectly straight each time, and the chevron pattern didn't do me any favors either. I love how it turned out, but this one was a doozy. It's for a sweet cousin of mine who is expecting her first baby, so I don't mind at all, but I might go with a shorter name and a non-geometric pattern next time.
Hobby Lobby carries a cute line of oil cloth(ish) baby items, and this turquoise chevron bib was fun to stitch on. I am officially overwhelmed with orders again so please bear with me as my turnaround time increases to about 3 weeks. I'll do my best to try and be faster, but my family also needs clean clothes and food occasionally.
Baby Boy Sets
As of today I'm not taking any more orders through the summer. We have a packed schedule of travel and activities so I'll be out of pocket in June and July, but if you'd like to place an order for the fall and want to be at the top of the list when I return, go ahead and email me your request now.
This little set for Riley has a heartbreaking story to go along with it. I know everyone has seen the devastation that the tornado in Moore, OK caused a few weeks ago. One family lost everything in the tornado just as they were welcoming a precious baby boy into their family. They were in the hospital giving birth to their sweet baby, Riley, when the tornado ripped through town and demolished their home. They were so thankful to be safe, but mourned the loss of their house and all their possessions, and had nowhere to bring their new baby home to. The hospital allowed them to stay a few days longer while they made other living arrangements and gather clothing and baby supplies. I learned of their situation and felt compelled to make a special baby set for Riley, since all their baby shower gifts, newborn clothing and special nursery items were gone. Coincidentally, the mom just happened to be my clothing size, so I was able to purge my closet and share some items with her as well. Several other families have donated household items for the family, so I hope they are able to put their lives back together soon and concentrate on enjoying sweet baby Riley. Here's a fun set for a sweet baby boy whose nursery theme is trucks. I never get tired of blue and brown for boys.
I'll be back soon with more posts, but won't be taking new orders until August. Have a great summer!
Baby Girl Items
These are some baby girl items that went out this week. Simple but classic.
These baby gowns are very popular for hospital or coming home outfits. I always think about the tiny baby that will wear this special outfit and the little feet that will be scrunched up inside. So precious. Boutique Baby
We had a fun and relaxing staycation over Spring Break last week with some of our closest friends and it was hard to wake up to that alarm this morning. Now I have the house to myself again and it's time to get back to work. I've completed lots of baby gift sets recently but was waiting for the recipients to see them in person before I posted them here. I've made a change in pricing in one of my baby items. The custom sewn bibs are now $15, while the white knit ready-made bibs (like below) with monogram are still $10. Please specify when you order which style you prefer and I'll charge you accordingly. Thanks so much!
The laundry is calling my name again. Have a great Monday!
Snips and Snails
Of course, after my last post asserting that the girls were winning the gender race I had a whole slew of boy orders come through to keep things even. I'm still in love with gray chevron and try to use it every chance I get before it goes out of style. I'm also trying to pare down my fabric stash. I've done an extensive purge of my sewing room and am determined to keep it in order, so no new fabrics until I use what I already have. I've pinned several inspirational ideas for craft rooms but am so disillusioned by how unreasonably impeccable they are. Whose sewing/craft room looks magazine-shoot ready all the time, with perfect stacks of fat quarters in color spectrum order? Not very realistic for me. I'm trying to strike a balance between Martha Stewart Living and Hoarders.
I've added some new stacked monogram designs that are perfect for a bib applique. This chunky Times New Roman is one of my faves.
Another new stacked monogram (fill-stitch).
Sugar and Spice
There have been lots of little girls born in my circle of friends recently, and apparently in yours as well. The pink is winning over the blue right now.
How precious is this scripture with the personalized name? I added it to a store-bought minky lovey and it's one of my favorites. It might be my go-to baby shower gift from now on. What new mom can resist shedding a tear when she sees her baby's name in this well-known scripture? The truth it expresses makes all the difference.
Sock Monkey Gift Set
This was my third time to make this little sock monkey trio (I purchased the doll) for a craft show, and it's still one of my faves. Perfect for the mom-to-be who hasn't made the name announcement yet (or is still struggling to decide on one), but still wants something boutique and fun. The name can always be added after the little man makes his appearance.

Baby Sets
I love putting baby gift sets together. Sometimes the customer knows exactly what they want, and sometimes I'm given carte blanche to "just make it cute". Here are a few more sets I've completed recently.
I love this whimsical monogram design for a baby boy, and I'm partial to the pairing of gray and slate blue.
A sweet and feminine set for Amelia.
And some more burps for baby Haven.
I just spent too long browsing Pinterest and I have to run all the way across town to get some blue-tipped needles for my embroidery machine. I don't know why they make a difference, but my machine hates any other kind of needle. Have a blessed day!
