Tatum modeling her oh-so-scary Halloween shirt!

Happy Halloween!

I've seen this dress pattern all over the custom boutique sites online and knew I wanted to try it. I ordered the pattern, labored over the fabric choices, and was so proud to get it finished. I made it specifically for Tatum, because she is still at my mercy for her clothing selection, and I just knew she was going to L-O-V-E it. Um, no. Too many "wrinkles" (ruffles) for my shorts-and-tee-shirt kind of girly, and she gave it a big thumbs down. I did actually force her to wear it one day and, after removing it from her body as soon as she got home, she said, "Can I never wear that dress again?" Regardless of my child's condescending attitude towards it, it's a super cute dress and it has found a new home with a more appreciative wearer.

These particular fabrics are more appropriate for fall, but I can envision lots of potential different color/pattern combinations for any holiday or season. Christmas orders are starting to roll in already, so let me know if you need one soon!

Birthday Girl

October is a big birthday month for us, and Tatum was first, celebrating the big FIVE! I won't wax nostalgic about how she is my baby, and how five is the age she will be when she starts school, and that I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday, so I'll just say we had lots of fun enjoying this little person. She had a Hello Kitty party with lots of friends and family, went to Build-a-Bear to pick out a new bear (she had to get a bear "because it's called Build-a-Bear!") and eat at Rainforest Cafe, which she requested because last October her big sister got to eat there for her birthday and get the cool Volcano dessert. This little girl adds so much enthusiasm and humor to our lives and we're glad God gave her to us. We love you, Tatum Verbatim!

Another Halloween Post

I've added another size to the canister family. This one is smaller, about 5" tall, compared to the original 7.5" size. Perfect for "boo-ing" your neighbors or as a fun Halloween teacher gift.
