A customer ordered these personalized pillowcases as graduation gifts. She requested black and white letters with red (crimson, actually) stitching to match their new college colors. I really like the 3-initial monogram, but a first name would be cute here too. The cases fit a standard size pillow.

Teacher Gifts and Saving the Planet
I decided to go "green" for our teacher gifts this year. Our family is trying to be a little more eco-conscious to make up for the bajillion plastic water bottles and Wal*Mart sacks we've contributed to the landfill in recent years. The reusable shopping bags are everywhere right now. I keep a few in my car to use instead of the plastic grocery sacks, and (when I remember) take them to carry my purchases in. ** Tip: they don't work well as library book bags. Trust me on this.
We love the reusable metal (aluminum?) water bottles. My big girls take theirs to school every day and I'm not finding empty disposable water bottles in their backpacks, lunchboxes, under their beds, etc. They do require handwashing, especially with the vinyl monogram, but it's not too painful.
Finally, the key fob wristlet is just a fun yet practical mom/teacher accessory to keep your keys handy when your arms are full.
Reusable water canister with vinyl monogram (available in black, pink, green and purple) - $10
Key fob wristlet (any ribbon color or pattern) - $6
Applique Name Beach Towel
The letters of Finley's name are a light pink gingham, although they look a little washed out here. I LOVE this preppy polka dot beach towel with the full name appliqued on the edge. Please be aware that the beach towels are subject to availability, so I can't guarantee an exact duplicate (but I promise I'll try really hard!).
Applique Name Beach Towel - $25
Side-Tie Pillowcase Dress
This dress doesn't photograph as well on the hanger as it does with my adorable model wearing it (see here), but she was unavailable for this photo shoot.

Custom Dish Towels
These pictures aren't great because it was late at night and I was getting ready to leave town, but I wanted to post them because they're a new item. I embellished waffle-weave hand towels for my mom for Mother's Day. It was intimidating to give the person who taught me to sew something I made, but I'm choosing to believe that she probably didn't inspect each hem and gathering stitch to make sure I did it just like she taught me. Surely she just appreciated the thought, right, Mom?
I think these would make great wedding shower or teacher gifts.

Initial Onesie
This onesie was purchased by a customer as part of a store-bought outfit. We added the initial and name on the back so it works with the coordinating dress or all by itself. After having a slight panic attack that my embroidery machine might revolt and chew up the fabric (it happens occasionally) I was relieved that it stitched out okay and I didn't have to frantically search for a replacement yellow onesie.
Pink and Black Baby Girl Set
A fun group of classroom parents got together to give their kids' teacher a baby shower for her soon-to-be-born baby girl. I went with a pink and black color scheme and made a custom set including a lovie blanket, name pillow, initial onesie with bloomers, burp cloth and reversible bib. Since she's expecting her first little girl, I thought she should be introduced to lots of pink! Congratulations, Mrs. W!
Happy Mother's Day
I've wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember, from the moment I could carry a baby doll and push a stroller. My 3 beautiful daughters are the greatest blessings I've ever received and I've never taken the privilege of being their mother for granted. They inspire and humble me daily. They are the reason I started sewing, and they're also the reason why I can't get as much sewing done as I would like!
My own mom has had the biggest influence on my life. She is my most ardent cheerleader, character builder and constant friend. While our relationship has evolved since I became an adult, she continues to be a source of wisdom and guidance for me. Most of all, she has taught me that your kids are never too old for you to worry about them (love you, Mom).
The best conversations with mothers always take place in silence, when only the heart speaks. ~Carrie Latet

Wipes Cases
Just a couple of fun travel wipes cases and a paci clip.
I'm hunkered down sewing up a storm for Mother's Day and several large custom orders, so you may not hear from me again for a few days. If you've placed an order recently and I've corresponded with you, it's in the line-up and I promise I'll get it done. My craft room looks like an explosion has occurred, and I'm sure my poor husband wonders how anything productive happens in there. While I strive to keep the rest of my house picked up and in order, I prefer messiness and a little clutter in there so I don't have to worry about picking up after myself while I'm busy with an order. I've taken that permission a little too far this week, so I need to give myself a time-out and start sifting through the piles.
I hope to post some more products soon, and show you some new items I'm working on. I can't decide how to post some teacher gifts I have without any of our gift recipients seeing them (Danyelle, that means you!) so it may need to wait until the end of next week. Happy Friday!
